You like to explore the world. And understand there is more then beaches and holiday resorts (although you might like to combine this with a volunteer experience). You prefer to donate to a charity above spending you money on a commercial travel organisation. You want to experience the real life in another culture. Interact directly with the locals. Work together. You look for an experience without language barrier and therefore you choose the Philippines (most people of the Philippines speak english). You appreciate if the locals inquire about your culture too (Philippinians love to interact with foreigners and are curious about other cultures). You see an experience as volunteer as the best way to learn about a culture so you can return a next time exactly knowing what is going on in this part of the world (almost all visitors return at least once to the Philippines). You want to be sure that you can handle the experience (PD conducts screening interviews). And like to perform meaningful work (PD carefully selects projects in which you well be actively involved). You don't want to be left on your own but expect a well organised stay (PD partners with professional organisations only).

PDs mission is to support the people of the Philippines to live meaningfull lives. Her goals are to promote health, education and participation of underprivileged Her means are fundraising, coordinating volunteers, (co)developing projects which support our goals and lobbying for a bilateral development relation at the government of The Netherlands. PDs aim is to put The Philippines on the map of the world of Dutch volunteers. We want to distinguish ourselves by managing the expectations of our volunteers. At this moment we are in the process of selecting partners. Our criteria are integrity, durability and professionality. We focus on the fields of sustainable agricultural development, with elements of education and projects targeted at education and health of underprivileged like children and/or disabled.
